Rambam (Hilchos Tefillah, 12:1) teaches that Moshe Rabbeinu decreed we should read from the Torah every week on Shabbos, Monday and Thursday. Why? So that we should never go three days without Torah learning.
Let us do more than just hear the words of the Torah being read in Shul. Let us learn the lessons of the Torah, and allow them to penetrate our hearts and enrich our lives.
